Sophia is the first point of contact with all our clientele for both our Shelter Program and our Homeless Prevention Program under our current TANF contract along with direct assistance funding provided through our current Adams County CSBG and Commerce City CDBG-CV3A contracts.
Through her lived experiences along with celebrating her one-year work experience with ACCESS Housing, Sophia provides an added level of insight to our family case management efforts that few can match in reaching our families “where they are” during their transition with us.
Sophia holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University of Denver and two years of experience working in social services.
Devin serves as the new Program Coordinator bringing a local energy to the variety of wrap-around services and community outreach that ACCESS Housing is able to offer. Devin works with Sophia as another frontline contact with all our clientele for both Shelter Program and Homelessness Prevention efforts - specifically under our Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) contract.
Prior experiences include three years as a Family Service Coordinator with Brothers Development assisting families on-property and in the community with housing, jobs, education and mental health assistance to name a few networking referrals as well as such noted community events like toy giveaways, meal coordination, winter coat drive and even COVID testing for local families. Devin's work with many youth in the community stems from his seven years as a Youth Services Specialist with the Gilliam Youth Center focused on Denver inner city youth housing and gang relations.
Joining the team in October 2021, Devin can empathize with many families as to balancing work with parental responsibilities as he juggles every day with his own families' diverse needs.
