HOMELESS PREVENTION PROGRAM

ACCESS Housing offers our Homeless Prevention Program for families in Adams County who are in need of rental, utility, or mortgage assistance in order to avoid becoming homeless. In 2020, the program served 140 families and is on track to serve over 200 families in 2021.

Instructions for Applying for the Homeless Prevention Program:
At the beginning of each month, ACCESS Housing opens our application window for families to apply for rental, mortgage or utility assistance funds. A link to complete the application will be available in both English and Spanish until the 10th of the month on our website. If a family is unable to complete the application through the link, they may call us at 303-289-7078 to request assistance with completing the application.

Families will receive a response from an ACCESS Housing staff member within 3 business days. Limited funding is available each month and a decision to provide assistance is determined on a case-by-case basis. For those families whom we are not able to assist, they will be provided with referrals to other community resources.

If approved, our staff will reach out to the family and set-up an appointment. Families must provide our staff with all supporting documentation at the time of the appointment, or they will not receive funding. Please see the FAQ for more information on what supporting documentation is needed in order to process an application for assistance.
